The Financial Literacy Basics Entrepreneurs Need to Know
Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. Like most of you, I grew up with virtually no formal training on money. I learned that we definitely need money to get the things we want and one way or another, we have to work for it. Short of getting my passbook savings account back in the ’80s, I was taught very little about how to be financially literate. What happened? I got a job, paid bills, saved a little (but not really) — and then, when I got to college, I went into credit card debt in exchange for a free T-shirt. By not getting the proper education on money,…

Will AI Replace Financial Advisors?
A reader asks: Technology has made investing easier (indexing, direct indexing, robo advisors, etc.). With AI in vogue right now, what does the RIA space/ financial planning look like in another 20-30 years? Assembly reintroduces bill requiring financial literacy class as graduation requirement for Wisconsin high schools
Financial literacy could become a required course for Wisconsin high school students under a revised state Assembly bill. Last year, Wisconsin’s GOP floated a plan to require high school students to complete a full credit of financial literacy in order to receive their diploma. It would have gone into effect for the 2022-23 school year. But the tight timeline and cost to school districts to implement the classes caused the measure to fail. The revised bill would shorten the requirement to a half credit and would not begin until the 2028 school year. On Thursday, the Assembly Committee on Education heard three hours of testimony from students, teachers and non-profits…

Here are the top 3 reasons to fire a financial advisor, say experts
Edwin Tan | E+ | Getty Images Breakups are always hard. The relationship with your financial advisor is no different. But there are some telltale signs it’s probably time to call it quits, experts say. “When it comes down to it, it’s a business relationship,” said Micah Hauptman, director of investor protection at the Consumer Federation of America, an advocacy group. “If advisors are not serving the client in a way the client deserves or expects, it’s entirely appropriate to end the relationship,” he said.
