Talladega native holds finance director post | News
Reynaldo Jackson January 17, 2023The Metropolis of Talladega has named Talladega native Shaneeka Phillips as its new finance director.
Phillips formerly served as the town clerk/treasurer for Harpersville, where by she was also the human sources administrator, custodian of records, and chief election official.
“Ms. Phillips’ encounter in correctly controlling city funds, accounts and finances, as properly as her excellent supervisory abilities, will make her a terrific asset to the Metropolis of Talladega,” explained Town Supervisor Seddrick Hill.
In Harpersville, Phillips managed the town’s price range organized and interpreted economical statements and monthly experiences for the mayor, council, and department heads regulated the selection of all city taxes, permits, licenses, and other receivables and ensured compliance with the town business licenses, ordinances and sale, use, rental, lodging, and tobacco taxes.
Her extensive responsibilities also incorporated governing the collection of municipal taxes with a contracted agency reviewing accounts for regional audit approvals aiding in the selection of delinquent taxes of local vendors superintending town bids, Ask for for Proposals (RFP) and connected functions and keeping compliance documentation for point out and federal regulations.
Prior to becoming a member of the Town of Harpersville, Ms. Phillips served as a regional specialized supervisor for the U.S. Census Bureau in Atlanta, wherever she was accountable for oversight of approximately 200 census subject supervisors, managers, and support team.
